Cathy Kelly- What She Wants
Hope, Sam, Virginia, and Nicole are four women trying to cope with the vicissitudes of life. Struggling to fit her family in with the hectic demands of her career has made Hope feel like a stranger to her husband, Matt, and their two small children. Her unconventional sister Sam has big plans to be the first female music mogul, running her own record label exactly the way she pleases. Virginia and her husband Bill can't wait to build their retirement dream home and spend more time with their granddaughter. Nicole is the wild child, tossing her fate to the winds as she sings and parties her way through life. Now a day of reckoning is coming, as each of them confronts a shattering crisis that will change them in ways they couldn't have predicted. But can they survive the fallout?

Dixie Cash- Since You're Leaving Anyway, Take Out the Trash
The strongest, sexiest, and sassiest debut contemporary romance we've ever seen since Rachel Gibson! The quality of Dixie's writing combined with the pure romance of the story guarantees that Avon Romance has just acquired a new star.

Debbie Sue Overstreet is still the best-looking gal in Saltlick, TX-and her ex-husband Buddy is still the best-looking sheriff. Thanks to a thriving gossip mill (also known as Debbie's hair salon), there isn't a thing in Saltlick that she doesn't know about before anyone else. That is, until somebody offs snooty Pearl Ann Carruthers. With Buddy on the case, the woman who has to know everything is stumped by not just one, but two questions: first, who killed Pearl Ann and why, and second, how on earth did she ever let Buddy Overstreet get away? Lucky for Saltlick and Buddy both, she means to find out the answers, no matter what it takes!

Jill Mansell- Falling for You
After a romantic encounter under the cover of darkness, former ugly duckling Maddy Harvey is shocked to discover in daylight that her potential Prince Charming is a totally unsuitable ghost from the past.

Jill Mansell- The one you really want
It all starts with a shiny, red, sit-on lawnmower. When Nancy spies her Christmas present from her husband sitting on the lawn, she realises the jewellery she thought was for her must be sitting on someone else. Her best friend Carmen comes to the rescue, sweeping Nancy away to her luxury London flat.

Jill Mansell- Sheer Mischief
It's not that Janey Sinclair isn't pleased to see her sister. It's just that being woken at seven by Maxine, complete with police escort, isn't quite how she'd planned to spend her Sunday. Even so Janey, who's just rebuilding her life after her husband disappeared, is delighted that her sister's back in the Cornish town where they grew up. But when Maxine sets her sights on Guy Cassidy, an impossibly glamorous fashion photographer, Janey knows there's no limit to the mischief her sister will get up to in order to dispatch her rivals. But little do they know that the competition is a lot closer to home than they think...

Sarah Webb- when the boys are away
When Meg returns to Dublin after three years trailing Simon around the globe with their toddler, Lily, and Dan, she realises that all her friends have moved on. And now she only has her kooky family, her sex-obsessed sister, Hattie, and Dan's flaky but dangerously gorgeous father, Sid, to rely on for help and support.

Barbara Bretton- Chances Are
Maddy Bainbridge is finally marrying Aidan O'Malley, culminating the courtship featured in Shore Lights (2003). Too many relatives are involved in the wedding preparations, and everyone's looking forward to the upcoming nuptials--everyone, that is, except Claire O'Malley, the widow of Aidan's brother, Billy. Claire has a deep, dark secret and hidden fears, both of which have paralyzed her ability to feel the joy of the occasion. However, secrets and fears are hard to keep to oneself when a crew from PBS is taping a documentary about one's family and town. This novel is filled with an almost bewildering number of aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews, but Bretton skillfully intertwines their stories with threads of emotions ranging from gentle humor to palpable angst. Chances Are can stand alone, but it makes more sense if Shore Lights is read first. Shelley MosleyCopyright © American Library Association.

Hester Browne- Little Lady in Big Apple
Browne's follow-up to The Little Lady Agency (2006) finds Melissa Romney-Jones still happily dating handsome Jonathan Riley and running the Little Lady Agency, the business she created to help socially challenged men. When her flatmate Nelson kicks Melissa out of their apartment so it can be renovated, Jonathan invites her to accompany him on an extended business trip to New York. Tempted by the opportunity to experience life in the glamorous city, Melissa agrees, only to be faced with constant reminders that Jonathan's ex-wife, Cindy, resides in the same town. While at a party hosted by friends of Jonathan and Cindy, Melissa runs into Godric Ponsonby, an English actor she knew (and fooled around with) in high school. Godric's agent immediately latches on to Melissa, hoping that Melissa can help tame Godric's bad manners, but Melissa's willingness to help creates friction between her and Jonathan. Lighthearted and full of funny moments, Browne's second novel is sure to charm fans of her first. Kristine HuntleyCopyright © American Library Association. All rights reserved

Harlan Coben- Tell No one
Amazon.com's Best of 2001David Beck has rebuilt his life since his wife's murder eight years ago, finishing medical school and establishing himself as a pediatrician, but he's never forgotten the woman he fell in love with in second grade. And when a mysterious e-mail arrives on the anniversary of their first kiss, with a message and an image that leads him to wonder whether Elizabeth might still be alive, Beck will stop at nothing to find the truth that's eluded him for so many years. A powerful billionaire is equally determined to make sure his role in her disappearance never comes to light, even if it means destroying an innocent man.
In David Beck, Harlan Coben, the author of the popular series starring sports agent Myron Bolitar (
Darkest Fear et al.) has created a protagonist who shares many of Bolitar's best qualities--he's a decent, generous, gentle guy whose loyalty to those he loves is unquestionable. So when he discovers that people he was close to may be responsible not only for Elizabeth's murder but also the "accidental" death of his father, Beck's sense of betrayal is as understandable to the reader as his uncharacteristically violent reaction. Coben is a skillful storyteller with a gift for creating likable characters caught up in circumstances that illuminate their complex emotional lives and deep humanity. This should be the thriller that breaks this talented writer out of the mystery genre and earns him the recognition he deserves. --Jane Adams --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Jane Blanchard- Nailing Henry
Set in a television production company, this is the story of revenge against an awful boss. Janet is 42, a career woman who lives on her own but would like a boyfriend or husband but isn't desperate about it. She has a pivotal role in the television productions - thinks up most of the ideas, writes and often directs and produces. Harry, her boss, takes all the credit but any blame gets firmly placed on Janet's shoulders. Val is Harry's wife. On the surface she has everything she could want - a successful husband, money, fabulous clothes etc. But underneath she's lonely. Janet and three of her colleagues are fed up with the way Harry treats them. When they find out he has a mistress and is betraying Val, they decide to take their revenge...

Luanne Rice- The Perfect Summer
Rice revisits the small Connecticut town of Hubbard's Point, adding another family to the long list of residents from her previous books. Bay McCabe seems to have the ideal American life with a successful banker husband and three wonderful, normal, healthy children, but on one idyllic summer day life as she knows it falls apart. Sure, she and her husband Sean have had marital problems, but he promised things would change and they do, for the worse. When Sean doesn't come home, Bay starts thinking about all the pitfalls of her marriage, and then the FBI shows up and informs her that Sean is under investigation for embezzlement. Her life is in chaos and the children are terrified, especially her eldest, Annie, who believes that if she could only be what her father wanted her to be, i.e., thin and athletic, he wouldn't have disappeared. A loving look at family and the issues that must be faced when a crisis threatens its cohesion. Patty EngelmannCopyright © American Library Association. All rights reserved
